DMIC

This was my DMIC blog post for this week. We were learning about fractions.  The question is down below. Here is how our group got the answer.

Something in the water

This term our school topic is called something in the water. We are going to learn about what animals live in the ocean and what they eat. My class and I have just done something that shows what animals are in the ocean and things that describe the ocean. I hope we can see what animals eat other animals. I also want to learn how animals find there food and what there hidden talents are. I really want to learn about sharks because they are dangerous and to see what they eat.  I can't wait to see what we do.

Going rock climbing for Koni's birthday

Have you ever gone rock climbing before? Well if you have great. After reading this you will want to go.

Yesterday it was my cousins birthday. His name is Koni and was turning five. When we got there it was big. After getting off we went inside. It looked so cool. It was like a giant arcade.Anyways, we went upstairs and that was where everyone was. Later uncle Nella said " all the kids that want to climb come with me".I wanted to so I did.

We had to get a wristband so we could climb. After that we had to wait in a to put on our climbing gear. The gear was a harnes. It was a bit hard to put it on.  You had to wear it like pants and they would tighten it. When you were done you would have to wait. The the man teached us how to climb and clip it on. The first thing he told us was how to clip  it on. So you turn and pull back. You have to do both of them. After we got to go. I was so exicted.

After all the climbing it was over . I hope I can do this again

Picking up my sister and uncle

At Thursday elevn o'clock pm me, Inga and my grandpa went on an adventure. Can you guess where? we were going to the airport to pick up our sister and uncle. I was so exicted because we haven't seen them in a month.They were at Tonga. So we went. Funny storie when we got to the van Inga pointed out that our cat was in  there. My grandpa opened the door and our cat came out. Anyway we got in and went off. It was a bit long to get there. After half an hour (30 minutes) we were finally there. When we got there I was confused because when we always go to the airport we always get a ticket. We wonder aroundand there was a sign that said carpark c is closed. So we went around to the exit and I was right. It had turn out that we took a wrong turn. We got a ticket and parked. As time was getting closer I felt like the butterflies were getting bigger. Walking up the escalater I was really shakkey. When we got to the tippy top. We walked east and looked at the big screen. It said lolotonga hifo which means getting off in Tongan. I walked to the front row think I would see them first. Suddenly my sister and unclealready came out. My grandpa saw them first. We got out and she started to speak Tongan. I laugh and said " it is good to have you back sis". After we went home and it was 12:30 am.

Matariki

Did you go to the Matariki light trail? Did you hear or see the fireworks? Well if you did go good for you. If you didn't that is okay you also have next year. Cooking and making meat patties.

Have you ever coooked meatpatties before? I have and it was hard. I was cooking this with my mum. We were going to have dinner. Hey what do you  like to have  for dinner? I'll be sure that after you read this you will be sure to cook them as well. If you have any questions while reading this please                                             ask in the comments. Let's go on with the writing.



I was in the kitchen just banging my head. Later my mum walked in and asked me what we should have for dinner. I look at the meatpatties and said "meatpatties", and she said " yeah why not". So we did.

Cooking

The first thing we did was clean the pan because there were grease's. Then we waited for the water to go out. Later mum told me to grab the oil and tip it in the pan. She told me to pour it so it could cover the pan. My mum got out a plate,butter and a knife and started to butter the bread.Soon after that I got to put four meatpatties on the pan. It was sizzling so much. Lucky I didn't get burnt. Patties are like pancakes, but just easyier. I used a giant fork to flip it . Here is a picture. Well after a while the first four was ready. I looked good. Well that celebration didn't last long. Mum told me we were doing lots more ( 6 mmore). I got use to it so I just did it. Later after a lot of flipping it was time to eat it.

Tasting it

After a prayer me and my fdamily finally got to taste them. My mouth was watering. So I put it in a sandwhich. I used tomato sauce,mayo,butter,lettuce and a pattie. It tasted so good. Everyone was proud. Here is a photo of the patties.

I loved doing this. I hope I can do this again. If you were reading this thank you and I hope you can do this as well. Can't wait for you guys and gals to try it.

Helping mum cook dinner

Have you ever cooked dinner with mum? Well you should because it helps faster. Anyway, do you like to help with dinner? I am always ready. Now tonight me and my mum cooked curry, Sounds nice right. After reading this you will always love to help mum with dinner. You will probably know how to cook curry. Just saying people. Plus while reading this please don't be scared to asked questions                                                                   in the comments.

I was just laying down until mum called me. It sounded like she was in a horror movie. I went in and she said " will you help me to do dinner". I yelled " yes please". Then she whispred to me " were going to have curry, but don't tell the others" I asked "why not ?. She replied back "because if they know they will come and make it wierd". Then I said " ok" smiling akwardly.

Now for the cooking.

The very first thing to do was to wash the pot. Then we had to clean the chicken just to get the germs off. Now me and my mum put the stove ion low and put the chicken in the pot. We added just a little bit of water. Now we wait. Here is a photo of it cooking. Sometimes wierd bubbles come up, only sometimes. 

We also had some green cooked banana's. Here is a photo.

After waiting for a very long time ( 15 min) I finially added the curry power. Which looks like this.

After adding that we wait again. Wow waiting is a really long time even if your cooking stuff. In the mean while me and my mum made lemonade. We used a plastic jug just to be safe. We also used a sifted because to get the seeds out of there. we used six lemons. and lots of sugar. After that we waited again.

I got the plates out and mum started to scoop plates of the curry. She put bananas on my papa ones.Soon you know it we started to eat.

Tasting it 

Tasting it smelled nice and great. I hope that you can realate and do this at home. Spendin g this time with your mum is always important and it should happen all the time. Hope you can do this. I hope you can enjoy this writting. 

Making pancakes

Whats your dream breakfast?Mine is pancakes and that is just what I have been making.What do you like on you pancake? I like to add syurp.Have you even made pancakes? Well commet down below?                                 If you are reading this you will sure love pancakes after this.


I was just sittting watching Spongebob until my mum called me to come. She whispered to me and said that we were going to have my dream breakfast. Pancakes! My heart was just beating like I had just ran away from  a animal. She told me to be quiet so the others wouldn't know. I brang a plate out and a spatula.

Making it

My mum put the stove on low just to be safe. We used one of the bottles, but you can use home stuff. The only thing to is to add water. Now the first thing to do was to get some butter and spared it around the pan. The second was to pour a tiny bit of the bater into the pan. Then you wait. The only way to know when to flip it is when bubbles come up and they pop. Then once they have poped push the pancake to the coner then flip and that is how you know. Watch out incase you get burnt. I got burnt only two times but I'm ok. Remember to also have a grown up with you at all times. My mum was there just to be safe.

Tasting

When all of them were done it was time to taste them. My broither Marcus had all ready taste some but not me. So what I did was taste them and they tasted so good.It had tasted like I were the queen. I called my grandpa to come and taste them and he was kinda sick so I wanted to help. He tasted it with his tea and jhe was so happy of me.

I lloved doing this because it was fun and cool. I would wish if you guys try this out. It taste good and I can't wait for you guys to test it out. If you ever do this please try to comment this down below on blog it. I hope you have a good holiday.

Baking cupcakes

Have you ever used a oven alone? Well I have and I was even baking cupcakes.Have you ever baked cupcakes? Well reading this will show you how to make them and that they are fun to bake.

In the afternoon my mum had told me that I can finally bake my own cupakes.Iwas so happy because I have been waiting for tthis moment forever. I ran to the kitchen. When I got there my mum told me to get all the ingredients to bake them. So I got them all. I used the boxed one,but you can use some at home. The ingredients were butter,milk, two eggs. The rest was in the box. I also used a spoon,knife and wisk. 

Making it

The first thing to do is to preheat the oven to 1
60 degrees. The reason why was because you can just put the cupcakes in the oven instead of waiting for it.Now the first insturion was to put the dry ingredients in. It was baking power and flour.The next one was to pour half a cup of milk. Now the second to last part was to crack two eggs. Now the last part is to scoop four table spoons (Tbsp )of butter ,then mix! Wait I forgot to tell you guys I was baking vanilla cupcakes.After a long time of mixing it was nowtime to put them in the packs and put them straight in the oven. 

Baking

After putting them in I had to wait twenty to twenty five minutes to bake. Heres a picyure of them baking.

After waiting for a long time it had  turned out perfect,better then I had expected. Here is a photo.

Tasting

It tasted so good. I was so proud of myself for baking this, everyone was. I hope that I can do this again because it was so good. and it was fun. I hope you can do this to.What is your favourite flavour? Mine is vanilla. Can't wait to hear from your times.I hope you enjoyed my writting.

Term two extension reflection

This term it has been a blast for extension.Well we did a couple of awesome things like coding, playing Minecraft with Zoe, coding robots and Forty hour famine . Me and Julianna even got to go on Kea Kids News.We also had to do a scratch game and an animation. We also did a research.I'm going to start with doing stuff with Zoe.

Last week we got to do some epic stuff with Zoe. If you don't know what Zoe does well she works for OMG TECH. That is like a coding company but really cool. Well what we did was playing Minecraft and coding robots. How we were going to do this was that the people that was setting up go and do coding then the people that didn't they go on Minecraft.So it was me, Julianna, Kiarah, Kauri, Simon and Shayna. First Zoe explained to us what to do and what not to do. Well there were different things like go forward, turn left and stuff. Zoe also told us that if this orange thing comes on then we have to tell her.We started, me and Shayna were working together.There were three lanes and me and Shayna chose the 1st lane. we did all sorts of stuff until one of them worked. We did go forward for 3000 seconds then turn a quarter   . It finally worked. The only thing was that it was time to go and play Minecraft. We played then it was done. I think that it was fun because we got to play Minecraft and it was awesome.

Animation term two

This is my animation for extension. It is about how Polynesian navigators found their ways around the world. here is my script

Hi, welcome to my animation my animation is all about how the polynesian navigators use things to find there way to place’s.

Birds, birds are important because polynesian navigators used them to find them land.The reason why was because they fly over sea to get some food.They also went every single year to get food.

Ocean swells, Ocean swells help the polynesian navigators because it could drift them to the island. They also knew because there could sometimes be patterns which also lead them to the island.

Clouds, Clouds were useful to the polynesian navigators because clouds are over land.The colour of it helped as well. The clouds also could reflect the colour the land.

The Sun, the sun is helpful because the position that it sets and rises that can guide the polynesian navigators to where the island is.

Finally the stars,the stars are helpful because they stay on the position they were at. There is a star that is called the southern cross that helps them know were are.
