Bryde's Whale (Extension)

 Today in our extension meet, we talked about the Bryde's Whale. Miss West did a Jam board for our class. What we do to do is wrote 4 facts and 3 ways on how we could help them out. For this past 4 weeks, we have been looking at stuff about our oceans. Like the Byrde's Whale,Biodiversity and more. Miss West even shared about a company the doesn't use plastic bottles for there conditioner and shampoo. They instead do it, but its a bar soap.I have really enjoyed looking at this topic and this is just the start. I hope to learn more things about this topic. STAY SAFE!

Bryde's Whale

For extension we learnt about the topic we were going to learn about. It was about our oceans and the animals. We will be working with a site called Whale Tales. Anyways Miss West gave us a challenge to make a google slide about the Bryder's Whale. Here is the google slide of it.I learnt a lot about the animal itself. Point of view (POV) extnesion

 Today in our extension meet we were looking at the point of view of athletes. What I mean about that is athletes point of view when receiving some not so good things. In my slide I was focused on the athletes,family,trainer and the people from the home country. I was more focused on the amazing golfer Lydia Ko. Who is born in Korea, but plays for New Zealand. Now she has received some not so good things from the people from her home country saying why she doesn't compete with them. This was a really good activity to do because your learning to put yourself in there shoes. Also I know I didn't finished it all, but here is what I have for now. Anyways remember to STAY SAFE!

Olympics slide show for extension!

 This term me and Kiarah are going to be working on a slide show about the Olympics. We are focusing on identity of the Olympians. The  Olympians that we are doing is Lydia Ko and Laurel Habbard. They have gone through many things about there identity. One main reason is because Laurel Hubbard is a transgender and Lydia Ko was born in South Korea, but is getting questioned why is is playing for New Zealand. Just to be sure I am doing Laurel Hubbard and Kiarah is doing Lydia Ko. 

Trip to KPMG!

 Yesterday the extension class and other people went to KPMG. KPMG is a business in the city. This business sorts out peoples taxes and advisory. When we got there we had to be split into groups. I was with Kiarah,Jayah-May,Cherish,Israel,Roman and Lili-May. We got to have two helpers. They were Alex who is a girl and a man named Josh. We got to have a office tour and got to do experiments. My favourite part was the food. They had delicious food, there was sliders,sausage rolls and much more. It wasn't just that but the experiments as well. We also did a quiz and my team came second. I really enjoyed going to KPMG and I hope that I can go there once again. 

Learning of Today

 Hi guys, so today was extension day. We started on making our new projects about Mars. Here is my slide show to see what I did today. I will still work on it so that I can see what I can come up with. My main question was how are we going to get to mars? There are also some deeper question into my main question. One of them is what kind of materials I would need to make it. One of the things I will try to create is to make my own rocket ship. I hope that you guys can see what I come up with. Streets Trying out our games

Hi guys, so today we finally got to try out our games we made. If you have seen on my blog me and my extension class has been working with Toby and Bhav. This actually all started  all the way back on Term 1. My game was the tree jumble and I worked with Israel and Petero. Here are some photo's of the groups and there activity. We also did a couple races on the race track. By Austin and Kalani. The coolest part is that you guys can try out. I hope you guys can try this out yourself. 

Y7&8 Extension Provocation: Watch this Space

This is my extension work. Well it is just the first part of it. It was the planning for our work this term. The first few slides are what we thought if we had to move from Earth. So at the top of the slides there is a scenario that what would we need to do if we had to leave Earth in 12 months. The last slide is our project ideas. I am going to be looking at how would we get there to our new planet. I would also be working by myself. Anyway I hope that you can see what i come up with. 

                        

Streets project!

 

Hi guys, so this has been a project since the beginning of extension. It was a project with Toby and his co worker Bhav. We had to come up with ideas so that we can make walking to school better. My group is working on word find. I am working with Israel and Petero. The pictures you see on the top is the places we could put the letters on. Some my word find is kind of interesting because you actually have to find the letters first. After you find the letters you have to try and put them together to make the word. There is also a little bit of clues. The clues are to help you figure out what the word could be. This is the presentation of our project. Hopefully we can install this game soon, so that you guys can try it out!

Extension

Hi guys, so what you are seeing is my extension work. Well yes it does just have photo's, but here's why. The picture below explain why.Anyway on the first slide I had to find 5 pictures of outdoor games. The second slide was that I had to find 5 pictures of anything I like outside. The final slide was that I had to come up with 3 ideas for playful activity for the street. Wind energy

 On Wesnday it was the first day of Extension! We learnt about Wind Energy, and how the Wind Turbines convert kinetic energy into mechanical energy. You can use mechanical energy in many different ways all sorts of things. For example pumping water. We also found out some benefits of using wind Turbines.

One of the benefits is that the turbines actually make jobs. Yes you read this correct. How that happens is that there employ up to 100,000 workers. Also the wind turbine technician is actually one of the fastest growing American jobs.
