Tech-Acid and Bases

Really late from this one, but here is my tech lesson on Thursday last week. We got to do a really fun and cool experiment. We learned about pH. We got to test some different liquids with the litmus paper. Lets just say somethings some of the liquids were good. I did this with my bestie Roman and we had a great time. Before I forget we did this experiment with Miss/Mrs Smallwood Can't wait for the next experiment. ENJOY!

Topic 8-Acid and Bases

Question-

What is pH?

pH is a scale used to specify the acidity or basicity of a solution. Acidic solutions are measured to have lower pH values than basic.

How do you measure pH ?

You can measure it with things like litmus paper, measuring systems and much more

What is the scale pH is measured on?

pH is a measure of how acidic/basic water is. The range goes from 0 - 14. 7 being neutral.

What pH level does water have? Is water acid, basic or neutral?

Between 6.5 to 8.5. Water is neutral

What is the most acidic pH level?

0

What is the most basic pH level?

14

0-6-acidic

7-neutral

8-14-basic

Note:

Blood-7-neutral

Coke-3-acidic

Atoms:

Simplest format of matter

Acids-have more hydrogen ions

Bases-have hydroxide ions
