Trip to the museum

For the past two days the extension people and a couple of others people from team four went to the Auckland Museum. We went to the museum to learn about our topic and to do some awesome stuff. The first day that we went there we got to meet a wonderful Lady called Wendy and her buddy Gabriel. They took us into our classroom.

It was so cool because  there were lots of bean bags and there was a couch that you could lay on and hang your legs out. There were two other lady's that came to teach us what things are in the rocky shore and things that are in the ocean. We also had to describe what is in there. We each had to got to pull out two bits of paper that had words on it. Then we had to decide if it belongs to the rocky shore or the ocean. There were many words like dark and cold on the ocean one and smooth and drying in the rocky shore one.

After that we went into groups our groups. In my group it was Julianna, Simon, Kauri, Austin, Kahurangi and Kiarah. We went to explore the museum. Oh and also Suade's group. We first went into the Maori Section because it is Maori language week this week.  The first thing we went into was the Marae  we had to take off our shoes. We also couldn't take pictures because there was a sign that said "please do not take photos in here". Sorry about that. Anyway we walked to the next location which was the volcano. We walked in that house and the TV that was in there told us that there was a volcano coming  After exploring all the rooms it was time for lunch.  After a bit of play time it was time to go.

The next day the bus came a bit late. We went there. We got to work with VR and we made a rocky shore. The other group was doing a robot game. There were some videos but I can't show them now.

Thank you so much to the Auckland Museum for letting this happen. I hope that I get another great opportunity  to go there next year.

  1. Hi Angelica

I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed the trip to the Auckland Museum. The Museum is an amazing place to explore and learn about science and history. We were all lucky to be hosted by Wendy and Gabriel who taught you more about VR and coding. Well done and great reflection.
