DMIC blogpost 2

Yesterday we were in our DMIC groups. Our question was about how many meters does Miss West and Mrs Sio have to walked to the train station. My group said that the answer was 500m because each section has 500m. We all know that 500ms is a quarter of 2000m. We also had to put it up on the broad.

Marshmallow and spaghetti tower.

Today we had a challenge about who can have the tallest tower. My group was Kiarah, Julianna and Latiana. Each group got twenty spaghetti noodles and ten marshmallow. We only had fifth teen minutes to make our tower. Later Miss West told us to go. We started off nicely, but then soon Kiarah started to eat them while Latiana was making jokes. The thing I liked about that was we were having fun with our friends. I would like to do next time to tell Kiarah not to eat it. I wish next time we could have an easier challenge .

This is about showing the same fraction.

Animation scrip

Malo e lelei, my name is Angelica.Welcome to my animation. My animation is all about our topic for this term, which is Kia pai te kotahi- better together. I’ll be showing this in my three separate animations.I hope you enjoy it.

My animation is about charging the chromebooks. It is important to charge your chromebook because if you don’t you won’t be able to do your work the next day.You are also helping another person if you are charging it with them.

The next animation shows putting up the chairs. I am going to be showing why it is helpful to put up the chairs. The reason why it is helpful is because it makes the clean up go faster.

The last animation is all about working out the problem’s. In this animation there is going to be two people helping each other. Why because it is also helping out the person to finish their work.

If you enjoy my animation please leave a comment on my blog. Only if you liked it.

Flipping Fractions

Today I was playing a game with my dear friend Kiarah. My score was five and Kiarahs was seven. After we played the game we had to answer our questions for the game. The questions were how many pieces will each person get. My answer was seven because there was fourteen pieces and half of fourteen is seven. The second question was how many pieces and what fraction would each person get if the slice were shared among six, two or four people. I answered we will get seven pieces if we had two people playing. The last question was how many pieces and what fraction would each person get if a twenty four piece slice were shared among. I answered I know that we would get four pieces each because four times six is twenty four.

Hope you enjoy the blog post. I you want the link click here.

Camp

Have you ever heard of a teacher that created year five and six camp. Well not exactly a teacher. He is now the principal these days and his Mr Burt. It all began in 1991 when Mr burt and two other guys were thinking what they should do to make school fun. So he decided to start a camp called year five and six camp. This year it was the twenty ninth annual camp. I even heard that one of my friends mum attended the first ever camp. I just couldn’t believe that I want to one last week.

Our year five and six camp is about our topic this year better together. It was held on March the fifth to the eighth. On that day most of team four was there. My group was called Batay, it mean children in filipino.]The games and activities we had was the cup game with Mr Somerville and slip and slide. There was Kayaking with our wonderful principal Mr Burt down the beach. There was also Killer zone with Mr Jacobsen down the bottom field. Also free time in the hall, and dance practice with our camp mum ( camp teacher ). On the second day the games changed into different games than yesterdays games. The new games were clyicoball with the one and only Mr Jacobsen. We did practice again, and free time again. While we were doing all that stuff some of the wonderful teachers put up the people were sleeping with in our tent. After eating our lunch we got to see who were sleeping with for the two nights. I really wanted to be with my two besties Kiarah and Julianna. Sadly It just wasn’t meant to be. I was paired up with the two chatter ones Ema and Atawhai. We went to grab our stuff. We headed up to our tents. As I walked in it was so so clean. Now it was time for dinner. I was so excited for dinner. As we sat down Mr Goodwin choose the first team to go was Tamati Lelei. The dinner was nachos with mince and a hint of cheese.Soon we drifted off to bed.

One of my highlights of camp was camp concert because it was really fun seeing each others groups dance. The reason why it was fun was that we have never seen each other dance. My group Batay was the very first group to go. Me and my friends wanted to go third or fourth, but instead we were first. The first thing that popped in my head was that everybody was going to see my dance on the freestyle one.As we started not even one minute everyone was screaming and yelling at our dancing. To be honest I think there were yelling at Simons sassiness, since he was at the front. We were getting closer and closer until finally it was time for it. I was so scared, but knowing the people with me they would dance along with me. Guess what, they just stood there and clapped to the beat. So that just left me dancing but I didn’t really care because I was getting so used to it. At the end we did our chant Maddie and Simon (camp leaders for Batay)went to the front and did it.

Another of a highlight was sleeping a tent with my friends Atawhai and Ema. During the night we would pretend to sleep, but really we were eating our snacks. The snacks we had was gummy bears from Atawhai, Ema had pringles the original favour.I didn’t bring anything.I also loved it because they were not so noisy and annoying. Excepted when Ema keep on zipping her sleeping bag. They also did not wake me up in the morning.

I would like to thank Mr Burt for creating this camp. This wouldn’t of happened if he wasn’t there. I would also like to thank the cookers for there hard working skills. Also to the security guards that helped us be safe and sound. You guys stayed up until midnight. Also thank you to Miss Flavelle for pushing us to our limits. We wouldn’t had payed our fees and cookies if you didn’t remind us. Thank you to all helpers for helping us.

I think that next year the new year fives would love it. I think that you should come because it might change and it is fun.

Introduction

Where, when, who, why

On Monday morning after sitting a half an hour test, room ten lined up at the door. Our teacher Miss West was taking us out for a game called untie the human knot.

.Me and my class was excited to play it.As we were walking on the wooden deck I was wondering if you have to tangle each other or untie each other since it is called untie the human. As we got there we got into groups of five or six.

3. Start writing here:

On Monday morning after sitting a half an hour test, room ten lined up at the door. Our teacher Miss West was taking us out for a game called untie the human knot.

My class and I were excited to play it.As we were walking on the wooden deck I was wondering if you have to tangle each other or untie each other since it is called untie the human. As we got there we got into groups of five or six. I was with Shayna, Kiarah, Julianna, Jade and Aaron. We started the game. It was difficult because everyone was yelling and screaming and they was no way to figure out how to untie each other. Tysons group was the first group to finished just leaving us Finaus group left to beat. We were close to winning but the thing was we were inside out.So that meant that Finaus group won. Wait that was just a particle. Now it was the elimination round. We started the round and the boys quickly finished. I thought that they were cheating because your not allowed to let go. Again it was Finaus group, but Miss West stopped it. Miss West stopped it because she was going to tell us that it was going to be girls versus boys. We only did two rounds. Soon we began the challenge. Everyone was trying to get each others hands. It was like a bunch of Monkeys running to get one million bananas. We tried to untangle it but it was too hard. We tried going under, over and twisting. Sadly it didn’t work so Miss West had to help us. Meanwhile the boys were almost finished but they were divided which will make it hard to put it together. It got too difficult so Miss West stopped it, and she said we were both winners. As we head back to class and did work.

I hope to do it sometime again because its like our topic this year Kia pai te kotahi better together. I like this game because your working together as a team. I wish to add some twist like closing our eyes of stuff.
