Last session at TECH!

Today was sadly my last session of the term with Mrs Sharmap. She does STEM and let me tell you this experiment was COOL! It seems pretty basic but the results are worth it. We got to see water travel through the stem in a plant. In other words Photosynthesis. Once we took out the plant and cut it open the insides were the colour of the water. I worked with Kamryn. By the way if you want to do this just look at the bottom. This experiment was really fun and actually was the BEST! I hope I get to do this again next term! I hope you learn something and that you ENJOY THIS!

Topic 7- Osmosis and Transpiration

Photosynthesis-A process in which plants make their own food.

C02+H20 Sunlight Sugar+02

(Carbon dioxide+water Sugar+Oxygen)

Parts of a Plant

1.Flower

2.Stem

3.Leaf

4.Roots

(Leaf is part of plant where photosynthesis takes place)

Stomata: Tiny parts that help water of Carbon Dioxide

Osmosis: Process that help to move water from the roots to the leaves

Cells in the plants:

Xylem and Phloem

Phloem: helps food to move/distribute to different parts of plants

Celery and food colouring experiment:

Purpose: To see water movement from the roots to the leafs through Xylem

Supplies:

Celery
