Hi guys, so today was extension day. We started on making our new projects about Mars. Here is my slide show to see what I did today. I will still work on it so that I can see what I can come up with. My main question was how are we going to get to mars? There are also some deeper question into my main question. One of them is what kind of materials I would need to make it. One of the things I will try to create is to make my own rocket ship. I hope that you guys can see what I come up with. ENJOY!
Hi guys, so yesterday mostly of the year 7's went on a trip. Now your probably wondering where. Well once again we went to Goat Island. Well it was somewhere near there called Matheson bay .Anyway I was really excited to go there once again. We were split into 2 groups. The first one swimming and the other one was learning about the animals and other things about the island. My group got to go swimming first. My highlight of the day was snorkelling because I could see kina ,kelp and fish. One thing I want to do next time is the go a bit more out of the ocean.
So this is our water task. The reason why we did this was because we went goat island. Enjoy

The last slide is just some facts about Mars. I know it is a bit short, but al least I have a lot of facts about things to show off about my learning. Hi guys, so this was our experiment. We had to work in groups and I worked with Austin,Cherish and Rongo. What we had to do was build a boat that could float. The trick was we could only use straws,tape and scissor. My team also used a bit of cardboard. Our boat started off good but it started sinking because of the cardboard. At the start we didn't really communicate, but at the end we made it. Anyway I hope I can do this again, but with new people. I hope you enjoy.

This is my extension work. Well it is just the first part of it. It was the planning for our work this term. The first few slides are what we thought if we had to move from Earth. So at the top of the slides there is a scenario that what would we need to do if we had to leave Earth in 12 months. The last slide is our project ideas. I am going to be looking at how would we get there to our new planet. I would also be working by myself. Anyway I hope that you can see what i come up with.
This is my inquiry about space. It is about the things I know about earth and what I want to know. It is also about what question I have about it. I hope you enjoy my learning.
Hi guys, so today was the first day back at school. I was so excited because I had not seen my friends in two weeks. Anyway I was also excited for the immersion assembly which introduced our new topic, Watch This Space. All of the items were great, but my favorite was Team 5 and Team 2.
The reason why I liked team 5 was because it was very funny. They also did a bit of a song. They based there play on the magic school bus. The planets that they did were Mercury ,Jupiter, Uranus, Mars and Pluto. Mrs Tele'a and Miss Timi were Uranus. They were the ones that did the song. It was ice ice baby. Mr Moran was the teacher. Miss Tipene was Mars. Miss Smith was Pluto. Mrs Illoa was Mercury and Mrs Stone was Jupiter. They shared some awesome facts about the planets that even I didn't even know.
I also liked Team 3 was because it was in a song and it was really cool. Miss Davis who played the moon came out and started to sing the beginning of it. Mrs Carter played the planet Earth. Mrs Teleso played the sun. Miss Gaston held up some signs showing what the moon looks like in different forms. By forms I mean by how to moon changes. For example the moon can be a crescent shape, a full moon and many more. The music was also very enjoyable and I actually learnt something new from that. I learnt that the moon shine comes from the sun.
This term Team 5 will be learning about the solar system. I am really happy because I do like to learn about space. It can also be a good opportunity to learn more about our solar systems and the planets in them. I can't wait to start learning about the solar system.
