This work is about our animation for this term. It is all about directions and latitude. In this we had to pick four pictures we are going to draw and animate. We also had to do directions. 

DMIC blogpost 1 week 1 term 2

Today we were in our DMIC groups. We had to measure how long is 15 spaghetti in meters. The answer  was 3.75 meters.This work was from Juliannas group. I want to work on next time is to use times table.

Extension Reflection

For the past ten and a half week of the term year five and six extension have been learning about the eels and how the moon can effect them. We also learned about mararataka  the lunar calendar.

One of my highlights is when we were making our own moon calendar in maori so we could know when are the best times and the worst times. Did you know that there are thrifty moons in a month.

On the fifth and sixth week we had have an expert David Cooper came and tell use what he does and what eels do. He said that in the lakes and rivers anything that dropped to the rivers and lakes the eels came and chopped it out. He also told us that eels go and spawn around the pacific oceans like Tonga. We also had an maori person named Mahu come over and tell us what is the marataka to him. He had said when there was not that much moon his ancestors would sleep for at least two or three hours, but when there it was full they would sleep for eight to ten hours.

An other highlight of mine is when we went and saw the eels so that we can know and learn more of them. We are so luckily that we have an eel tank.

We did lots of fun activities like robo boxing and making the wheels.  Robo boxing is when we have two players and they go one on one by trying to say what they think of the subject. It is also hard to say something when someone else is talking. We also did a scratch game with the help of Walter from OMG tech. 

I hope that next term we can do more fun stuff and learn new things. I wonder what we are doing next term. I love being in extension.

Animation about Long fin eels.

This is my extension animation about long fin eels. The long fins eels are only found New Zealand. Eels are natural so they only come up at night. Eels don't really have good sight but they have really good sense of smell and feel. This is all about the worst times to go eeling and the best times to go eeling. I hope you enjoy my movie.                                                        THIS IS MY SCRIPT

Hi, welcome to my animation. My animation is all about the worst times to go eeling and the best times to go eeling. The way you know that it is good to go eeling is when the moon is a crescent or there is nothing there.The worst time to go eeling is when the full moon is out or it is three quarters of the way.

Good times to go eeling.As you can see there is a person that is going out to eel.As he goes on he see a eel. Then he starts chasing it. As they get closer to the ocean the eel goes down.Soon the person starts to think. Later he craps the net and throws it into the ocean. The eel is still swimming so the eel doesn’t know about anything. As the eel gets caught in the net he goes with the eel home for dinner.

The worst times to go eeling.There is a boy how wants some eel for dinner. He know that eels are nocturnal. He goes out with his net and tries to catch a eel.As the net goes down he waits. After a couple of seconds the net come up. When the boy see the net he knows that the net is empty so he goes back home. Guess there is no eel for them.

This is a diagram is about the good times and the worst times. At the top there is the good days from day 26 to day 3. On the bottom there is the worst times like day 22 to 7.

Team work explanation.

Why it is important to work in a team. Well the reason why it is important is that you can share ideas, listen to each other, communicate positively and include everyone. It is also important to know each other better, Learn off people and work in a team to go faster.

Today I will be explaining three things about teamwork. Getting to know people better, learn off each others ideas and Its faster when we work in a team.

Why it is important to know each other better is because some of the people you don’t work with you can get to know them better once you have worked with them. For example there could be a friend that you have no idea about him and you could ask if he wants to work together so you can become friends. Getting to know each other is good because If you don’t you won’t be able to know people when you grow up. I like working with people I don’t work with people because they can have good ideas, but sometimes I like to stick with the people I’m use to.

Another reason why it is important to get to learn of each other ideas is because you can use the idea if you need it.You can use each others ideas by saving them for later. You can also reuse ideas if they don’t come well together. I like to listen to people's ideas so I can learn of them and reuse them for later.

The last reason is being efficiency. Being efficiency is when you are in a group. Working in a group makes the job goes really fast. Being efficiency is working in teams. If you are not efficiency then you won’t be able to be efficiency when you grow up, but when you are efficiency you will be efficiency for the rest of your life because you can carry the things that you learnt for when you need them in real life. I like to be efficiency because what I like that efficiency makes me and my buddies learn fast and it saves up time and so you don’t mess up stuff in your group.

Today we were once again learning what the meaning of words. This story is about a chase.

DMIC blogpost 1 week 9

Today we were in our DMIC groups. This time we were trying to divide 366. This work is Roman's groups. This is a way to work it out faster. By dividing it by tens, hundreds and ones. Next time I hope I can use that way to work out my thinking.

My fun time doing a challenge.

On Friday  room nine and ten did a challenge that include ki pai te kotahi better together. The challenge was to have four people and they had to lay down on each other and try not to fall. The game was called human table. The rules were you weren't suppose to touch or fall off the chair.The totally amount of people were four because in a table there is four sides.

The first four  people that Mrs Sio choose from her class was Bronson, Exodus,Petero and Azmyth. Miss West choose Israel, Roman, Lucian and Bryston. We started to do it. Our class was so close to winning but Roman was too short. After they fell the boys fell. After their  two rounds it was the girls turn. The girls from Mrs Sio class was Ema, Mele, Atawhai and Vika. The people that Miss West choose was Shayna, Finau, Jayla and Maddie. Everyone was going bananas. We just couldn't stop. Until Ema's group fell down.It was just Shaynas group to go. We were down to one chair and Miss West pulled it out and guess what they stood up. We were so crazy. I couldn't believe my eyes. As they sat down. Miss West said something different with Finau. Finau tip toes so it was easier to pull the chair out.  Now it was back to the boys. The boys this time was Jordan, Najari, Donte and Kylez from Mrs Sio and Tyson, Lincoln,Aaron and Gabriel from Miss West. As we started I could see that the boys from Mrs Sio was tip toeing. On the other hand my class fell down. that was okay. After a while the boys from Mrs Sio class won. Now back to the girls. This time from Miss West class two of my friends Kiarah and Julianna took part. It was also Aniqua and Adriana. We started. As we were going the boys were cheering the girls from there class. Two minute later they fell. Now it was only Kiarahs group to go. With one chair two go Miss West pulled it with all her strength and they holed it one the longest.

After we did it we did a game called pull your friend up.We got into groups of two and we had to pull each other up without using our hands. I was with Cherish. I choose her because she is light to carry up. We started everyone was bursting to  be first. Instead Roman and Lincoln were first and they had to show it in front of the class. They went on their knees and lifted each other up. Now Miss West said we could do it again. After we did there were new winners that was Jayla and Finau. They did was that Finau lifted Jayla up which made them do it.Next time I hope I can do it as well.
