Term 4/Whole year reflection

WOWWWW! Term 4 is over, which means the school year is done! I never thought I would be a bit bummed out that school is out. Anyway's loads of things have not only happened over the year, but also this term. There have been some highs and lows this year. Our highs being Prize giving,Fiafia and those sorts of things. Well our lows are being in lock down for 3 MONTHS. Here is my reflection for the year and term 4. By the way I have been a year 7 FOR 4 WHOLE TERMS! Which means I'm a YEAR 8 NEXT YEAR!

I have written my past 3 terms reflection, so here's just a summary of each one.Term 1 brought some awesome memories. Things like meeting my new teacher to sports. The sports I did were softball and tag. They were both amazing sports to play. I also got to meet my teacher Mrs Stone. I only got her for 2 terms, but we'll get to that later. My best memory from term 1 would have to be the first day to be honest. We got to play fun games and learned about team 5 and what they do, the day was overall fun.

Term 2 was a fun term. We got to play a few sports. Such as Rugby Union and the Netball. We also got to have our FIAFIA! We were also blessed to have Te Kapua to keep us from the rain. Now this term was when we found out our teacher Mrs Stone was PREGNANT! She isn't anymore by the way. We had a gender reveal party and it was a girl! Not only that, but we got to meet our second/ new teacher for the rest of the year. Her name is the the wonderful and fabulous Miss Hall. She was fun, quirky and cringey but in a good way. She has taught me loads of things.

Now Term 3 is when it kind of went down hill, but went up hill later. We went into lock down in week 2. At first everyone thought that it was just another mini one. Well we were wrong. Although being in lockdown for the rest of term 3, we did do some awesome things before that. We got to have a sports exchange with St Kents. We also got to have our eastern zone tournament for netball. Not only that, but online learning was fun. It was basically the same, just online. We had some funny google meets. I am so thankful and grateful for the team 5 teachers,Tyson and Miss Hill for dedicating all there time into our work in the lockdowns and making them fun and enjoyable.

Now Term 4 was in my opinion the best, but also interesting. We all thought that, we wouldn't be able to go back to school. Considering it was already week 6.Well we were WRONG. We got the opportunity to go back to school. Now it was optional if we wanted to go or not. I was one of the fellow students of team 5 to come back to school. It was weird, but in a good way. I got to see all my friends again and my teachers. Even though we had 3 weeks left of school, we made the most of it. Here is the highlights of the last 3 weeks of Term 4 and the school year.

One of the best and biggest highlights was prize giving. Yes we had prize giving. Luckily we had Te Kapua to do it under. Prize giving was fun and awesome. Although we had to sit on the ground for 2 hours. Well technically 4 hours because we attended the juniors one. I got an award and it was 3rd academic. I was standing along with my friend Kiarah who got 1st (Congrats). It was also awesome to see all the items. Everyone's were good, so there was no best one. If you want to check them out go on archives click on 2021, then go on term 4 and click awards assembly. Which takes you on to junior or senior items and awards. We also got told who were the student leaders were next year. They didn't do rangatahi, since not the much kapa haka happened this year, but they will next year. Anyway's I was picked as a prefect along with Kiarah,Aye,Kamryn,Petero,Roman,Julius and William. We were also told the house captains. Which were Jordan,Jezer,Lincoln,Lucian,Ema,Latiana,Finau and Jade. Congrats to all the house captains and prefects for 2022. We better be ready.

Another huge highlight was the year 8 graduation. By the way did I mention this was the day after prize giving. So that week was busy. The year 7's got to help out and also got a little treat. The year 8's on the other hand wore some very nice dresses, suits and clothes. They also got some Delicious food. It was funny and cool to hear the teachers talk about each one of the year 8's individually. I can't wait for mine next year. I wish all the year 8's good luck for next year as they not only head into a new school, but also are year 9's.

The last 3 days were the best. We had a fun day on Monday. We had it because usually the year 8's go to the pools , while the year 7's go to Rainbow's End. Well since we couldn't do that we had the fun day. Although it was raining we got to do some fun water activities outside for 2 hours. We also made some Christmas cards to our families and teachers. We were meant to have ice cream and karaoke, but that was on Tuesday. Hopefully next year we get to do this again.

On Tuesday is when we got to have our karaoke and ice cream in the hall. It was hilarious and nice. Each room had 2-3 students sing a song. Not only that, but the teachers had to be paired up to sing as well. In my opinion the best were room 2. Which was Kingston,Brendon and Sivaenah. Brendon brought everyone to laugh as he literally grabbed the hand sanitiser to sing as a microphone. Also Kingston sassy face and moves were on. Along with Sivaenahs amazing voice. They sang This is me from the greatest showman. The best teacher performance was Miss Hill and Mrs Tele'a they performed The Best by Tina Turner. Miss Hill singing was just spot on with Mrs Tele'a energy.

On the last day, it was very sad, but also exciting. Sad because it was the year 8's last day at Pt England, but also exciting because that year 7's were going to be year 8's soon. Each class got to have there own time with there teacher. Well not my class because half was helping Mr Jacobsen well the other half was looking after the classroom.Which is fine by the way. Most of the students were crying and were just emotional. Even the teachers were.We also got told some breaking news that Mrs Tele'a would not be teaching at team 5 next year, but will be taking a break from teaching. I hope that Mrs Tele'a knows that she will be missed and that we appreciate the things you have done for team 5. Thank you for welcoming us year 7's with opening and loving hands. The year 8's got to perform and then boom it was all done. Even though we couldn't hug each other or do handshakes everyone could still say goodbye.

Which brings me to the end. This year has been full of ups and downs. From being in lockdown for 3 months to having huge celebrations like Prize giving and the year 8 graduation. I'm not sure if I'm ready yet for year 8 because it will be a new journey and will sadly be my last year at Pt England. I can't wait though to get my badge for prefect and become a leader of the school. I wish everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
